The HBFBV-A and HBFBV-T Series Pipe Float Ball Vent Valves are essential safety components for gas stations, specifically designed for single-tank gasoline vapor recovery systems. These valves are installed on underground storage tanks (USTs) or compatible above-ground tanks, ensuring that vapor is safely displaced into the delivery tank truck during fuel unloading. By working in conjunction with unloading pipes, vapor recovery pipes, and quick couplings, they create a fully sealed system between the tank truck and storage tank, significantly reducing the risk of fuel spillage and vapor emission.

The HBFBV-A Series features an aluminum pipe body with optional aluminum connectors, allowing direct threaded connection to vapor pipes without welding. The HBFBV-T Series uses a carbon steel pipe body with an electrophoretic coating, offering optional aluminum connectors or direct welding to steel vapor pipes. Both series utilize stainless steel ball floats and springs, ensuring excellent corrosion resistance, long service life, and compatibility with ethanol/gasoline blends (E85), biodiesel (B20), and other biofuels.

Available in multiple sizes—2 inch, 3 inch, and 4 inch diameters—these float ball vent valves can be customized according to client requirements, including pipe length and thread standards (NPT, BSPT, or other specifications). The valves automatically balance pressure during gravity-fed fuel unloading, preventing cross-flow between interconnected tanks and maintaining safe vapor recovery.

Globally, this type of valve is recognized under several names. In North America and Europe, it is often referred to as a “Float Vent Valve”, “Ball Check Vent”, or “Gravity Drop Float Vent”. In Asia and the Middle East, it may be called a “Fuel Tank Ball Vent Valve” or “Pipe Float Ball Vent”. Despite differences in terminology, all these variants share the same core function: controlling vapor displacement, preventing overfill, and maintaining pressure balance in fuel storage systems.

The ball floats are made of materials fully compatible with alcohol/gas blends and biofuels (E-85, Biodiesel, B-20)
The aluminum body with a threaded connector can be connected to vapor pipes directly without a welding process.
The stainless steel ball float and stainless steel spring are corrosion-resistant for long life.

Important Note: This series of float vents should not be used with suction pump systems. For use on gravity drop systems only. Do not use with pump-off unloading. Do not use with coaxial Stage I vapor recovery drop tubes.

This series of products is primarily designed for use in gas stations, specifically in single-tank gasoline vapor recovery systems.
