Precision Aluminum Overfill Shutoff Valve for Underground Fuel Tanks
The HY61SO Series Overfill Prevention Valve is engineered for ultimate safety in fuel handling systems, designed specifically for underground storage tanks in gas stations, industrial fuel depots, and commercial refueling sites. By providing a precise positive shut-off, it prevents accidental overfilling and ensures regulatory compliance.
Unlike conventional shut-off mechanisms, the HY61SO is integrated directly into the drop tube used for gravity filling, making installation quick and convenient without the need to break concrete or access special manholes. Its two-stage valve design automatically responds to rising liquid levels: at approximately 95% tank capacity, the valve reduces flow to a controlled bypass of 5 gallons per minute, allowing operators to safely stop refueling. If the liquid reaches 98% of the tank, the valve fully closes, preventing any additional inflow until levels return below the reset point.
Globally, similar devices are referred to by different names: in North America and Europe, they may be called Overfill Shutoff Valves or Automatic Tank Fill Limiters; in Asia and the Middle East, terms like Fuel Tank Overflow Protection Valve or Automatic Fill Stop Valve are often used. Despite the naming differences, the function remains consistent: absolute prevention of tank overfill while maintaining safe, uninterrupted operations.
