In gas stations, oil storage depots, and petroleum transportation, maintaining safe internal tank pressure is critical. The HY628V / HY628V-XXFA series vacuum pressure vent valves are designed to automatically regulate the opening and closing of the valve whenever the tank’s internal pressure exceeds or falls below safe levels. This ensures structural integrity, reduces oil vapor loss, and provides reliable safety for storage operations. These valves are typically installed at the top of tank vent pipes at a recommended height of approximately 4.5 meters to maintain tightness under normal conditions.

This product series is known by various names worldwide: in English, it is called Vacuum Pressure Relief Valve, Tank Vent Valve, or Pressure-Vacuum Safety Valve; in French, Soupape de décompression sous vide et pression; in German, Vakuum-Druck-Entlüftungsventil; in Spanish, Válvula de alivio de presión y vacío; in Italian, Valvola di sfiato a pressione e vuoto; and in some Asian markets, it is referred to as Vacuum Pressure Safety Vent or Explosion-Proof Tank Vent Valve. Regardless of location, these valves provide reliable pressure balance and operational safety.

The HY628V series features a polypropylene top/body with anodized aluminum base and poppet, combined with a stainless steel mesh screen to prevent debris from entering the valve. The operating temperature ranges from -20°C to +50°C. International standard opening pressure is +3 inches of water column (~750Pa) for positive pressure and -8 inches of water column (~-2000Pa) for vacuum activation. For the Chinese domestic market, positive pressure opening is +9 inches of water column (~3000Pa) while vacuum activation remains -8 inches of water column (~-2000Pa). The valve automatically releases vapor when tank pressure exceeds the allowable limit through the pressure valve, and admits fresh air through the vacuum valve when pressure falls below the allowable negative level, maintaining a safe internal environment.

The HY628V-XXFA series adds a flame-arrestor to the HY628V base design. The flame-arrest body is cast aluminum with flange connection, and the internal arrestor element is foldable aluminum alloy, providing additional fire protection. This series also features closed-cell foam gaskets and customizable flange sizes to meet installation requirements for different storage tanks.

During installation, it is recommended to cycle the poppet up and down to ensure smooth operation, especially if the valve has been in storage. The built-in inlet screen prevents particles from entering the valve body, ensuring reliable sealing and operation. These valves not only reduce oil vapor losses but also provide automatic tank pressure regulation and fire safety, giving operators peace of mind.

These vacuum pressure vent valves are used in gas stations or oil storage depots. The vent valve typically consists of two parts: a pressure valve and a vacuum valve designed to be installed inside. It is usually installed at a height of approximately 4.5 meters on the vent pipe of the oil storage tank to maintain the tank's tightness under normal circumstances.They protect tanks from excessive over- or under-pressure. The vent cap and internal wire screen are designed to protect the tank vent lines against intrusion and blockage from water, debris or insects. A normally closed poppet in the valve opens at a predetermined pressure or vacuum setting to allow the tank to vent.

Important Note:
These vents should not be used on under-ground storage tank (UST) with a throughput of 100000 gallon or more per month.

Features:
It reduces oil evaporation losses to a certain extent. When necessary, it can automatically open and adjust to maintain a balanced pressure inside and outside the tank, serving a safety function for the tank.
When the vapor pressure in the tank exceeds the allowable pressure, oil vapor is released through the pressure valve, while the vacuum valve remains closed.
When the vapor pressure in the tank is lower than the allowable vacuum, fresh air enters into the tank through the vacuum valve while the pressure valve stays closed.
The international standard for the positive pressure opening is +3 inches of water column (+750Pa), and the activation negative pressure is -8 inches of water column (-2000Pa). Installation Instructions:
Before installing the PV vent, it is recommended to cycle the poppet up and down. This ensures free operation of the poppet if the valve has had an extended shelf life.
An inlet screen is now included with the Vacuum Pressure Vent Valve to avoid ingestion of particles from the riser pipe that could cause the valve poppet not to seal properly.
